July 6th was a special day for both my son and me. I was celebrating my 36th wedding anniversary (yes, to the same man! LOL) and my son was celebrating his 25th birthday — both special events. Since this was truly a milestone for my youngest son, I wanted to do something really special. Like me, he’s also a foodie — fascinated with cooking, recipes, food shows, and eating global cuisines.
So, to celebrate my son’s birthday in truly foodie fashion, I treated him to a sushi-making workshop at the Salud Cooking School, a division of Whole Foods Market. This was a fantastic culinary experience for us both, and the first of many to enjoy. Not only did my son think that this was the best birthday gift ever, he thinks I’m also the coolest mom too!
