I’m always looking for information that adds to a healthier and better quality of life. Recently, while semi-watching ‘The Doctors,’ I overheard the discussion about secret tips to living longer. Well, this was certainly information I wanted to share.
I wasn’t too surprised by the secrets revealed, but the information was a reaffirmation that there are things we can do to live healthy, and longer. These secrets are not new, but they can be added to the growing list of must-do’s for a longer life.
Below are the 4 secret tips that help you live a longer life. Each is supposed to add 3 – 4 years to your expected lifespan:
- Don’t overeat – the recommendation is to stop eating before you feel full.
- Laugh more – we’ve all heard the saying: “Laughter is the best medicine.” There must be some truth to this old wise saying.
- Have safe sex – I think we already know what happens when you have unsafe sex. However, sex is an activity with key benefits for a healthy heart. In addition to this heart-healthy benefit, sex is ‘food for the mind’ and ‘rest for the body.’
- Be active – daily exercise is important to our overall health and well-being. Exercise improves blood pressure levels and prevents obesity, which increases the risk factors for high-blood pressure, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
