It’s not often that I will post on a topic that I’ve previously discussed. Except, when that topic is so important and there is much more that I can say in a single post. For this reason, I’d like to bring further attention to the sedentary lifestyle of many American office workers.
In my post last week, I talked about getting fit on the job, and how many office workers are literally sitting themselves into bad health. Sitting all day is now referred to, by many in the healthcare industry, as the “new smoking!” A recent article in FastCompany highlights the risks of butt-in-chair-all-day, and offers suggestions on how to work and stay healthy.
As a picture is worth a thousand words, the infographic in the article paints a clear picture, of the harmful effects of sitting. This gives us more reason to “Get Up, and Stand Up!
